Preparation: Always rinse the rice well 3 to 4 times before cooking to remove excess starch. Put 250 ml (1 cup) of rice in 560 ml (2 1/4 cups) of water or broth. Cover and bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer gently for 25 to 30 minutes or until liquid is completely absorbed. Remove from heat, add your favorite herbs and let sit for 5 minutes, covered. Remove the rice grains with a fork.
